Unwind @ Bait
‘When you fish for love, bait with your heart, not your brain’ is the motto of the recently renovated Bait in Bangsar, and we heart it, definitely. A team of waiters in matching jeans and stripy T-shirts serve up fresh oysters and tapas with a slow-food bias: we highly recommend the not-to-be missed calamari stuffed with chorizo. It’s this salty, crunchy mix of grilled calamari and slightly chili chorizo that you have been looking for – so simple, yet wicked good.
The décor – wood and lurid neon art pieces mixing up with wood – gives the restaurant a stylish and urban feel, in a laid back atmosphere, making Bait the perfect afterwork for a cosy evening or a refreshing week-end lunch. In the crowded Telawi row of western bars and restaurants, Bait stands out as the ideal hipster bar / restaurant able to cater for all your needs; proposing delicious food, an honest wine list and refined cocktails and alcohols. The whisky afficionados will enjoy the famous single mat japanese whisky, Black Nikka, and other delicious cocktails.
Being a white wine lover, I would recommend the highly pleasurable Pinot grigio – perfect ingredient to unwind after a long week. So much that I forgot to take a picture of the bill. There you go,instead a fun inspiring motto at the back of Bait.
