Pantai seafood galore
Pantai seafood is a traditional Chinese and seafood restaurant, in a very seaside decorum – palm trees embrace the large wooden bungalow, big aquariums display live fishes from local rivers to alaskan crabs, and a happy relaxed vibe exudes from families, groups of friends and businessmen alike.
Find your way through the large dining room, and take a seat in the alfresco area for a holiday induced feeling. Booking is highly advisable since this venue is very sought after and gets very crowded. We even would recommend ordering some of your dishes while making the booking to speed up the process.
The menu offers excellent seafood, delicious vegetables, tofu and splendid pork legs amongst other things. Try the signature dish – local or Indonesian fat crab in egg yolk; a surprising and ravishing variant to the european plain crab or the Singaporean peppered crab. Crabs from Alaska are also available should you wish to indulge, along with snow crabs from Australia. The lala (clams) in lemon grass and chili is a must try, a refreshing and tasty version that enhance the clams taste. Abalone, geoducks and sea cucumber are also available for the more adventurous.
To pair you dinner, Chinese tea is of course available, unless you prefer to bring your own bottle of wine – free of cork charge – or stop by the quaint wine shop by the aquarium.
