Grand Dim Sum
If you love dim sum, if you enjoy the hong kong cooking style, if you love eating pork as much as extra creative dim sum shaped as birds or teapots containing durian or egg yolk, then Grand harbour is for you – the latest and trendiest addition to the dim sum scene in Kuala Lumpur will make you weak at the knees.
Located at the back of Fahrenheit88 – one of the numerous shopping paradise in Bukit Bintang – Grand Harbour is a modern and uncluttered restaurant offering a spacious dining area bathed in sunlight thanks to the pleasant large glass panels.
The menu is a compilation of classic Chinese dishes, from auspicious yee sang (prosperity salad to be tossed between the guests) till an amazing siu yuk (crispy roasted pork belly) prepared to perfection – crunchy on the edge, tender inside – or springy wanton noodles . The talented chef is very creative on his dim sums, and if the traditional xiao long bao comes in its usual shape, a lovely shrimp dumpling topped with quail egg is presented…. in a bird shape. I actually had troubles eating it, since it is so lovely! For the aficionados, or adventurous, durian puffs are on the menu, and come swan shaped – feast for the eyes. A wide selection of pu-erh is available to finish on a lighter touch.
Have a great time at Grand harbour enjoying their signature dishes or celebrating Chinese New Year and all your happy events with their specials!
